Hanna

Hanna's identity is a rich tapestry, intricately woven from her Bavarian heritage and her diverse experiences across various landscapes. From our first encounter many years ago, it was clear that when she speaks of her origins, she doesn't merely say "German." Instead, she proudly highlights her Bavarian identity, reflecting the strong cultural connections that influence her perspective on life.

Raised in Munich, Hanna's childhood was deeply enriched by the lush, green expanses of her grandparents' farm in Tiefenbach, located in the heart of the Bavarian forest. These picturesque surroundings fostered in her a deep love for nature, which is evident in her artistic pursuits. Her academic path led her to the renowned university in Munich, where she refined her intellect and creativity, ultimately co-directing a software company in Freiburg with her partner.

Now, after years of immersing herself in the vibrant culture of Aotearoa, New Zealand, Hanna continues to grow. Her artistic contributions to this site reflect her creative instincts, and I am endlessly thankful for the friendship we share. A skilled carver of both wood and stone, Hanna's craftsmanship speaks volumes about her commitment to her art, embodying the essence of her heritage while also embracing new inspirations. Through her work, she invites us to delve into the intersections of identity, culture, and creativity, reminding us of the beauty that emerges when we honour our roots while reaching for new heights.
