The distillation of the exuberant consciousness

After cultivating a healthy, sustainable ego and when one remains eager to continue personal growth, attention turns to the 'distillation of the exuberant consciousness.' By succumbing to, and never questioning, the false self-awareness believed to be ME or 'I,' we inadvertently perpetuate the illusion that there is an isolated individual identity. Unfortunately, this false belief arises from an unconscious flaw deeply ingrained in us - the error of equating ourselves with an amorphous, collective experience we call a spiritual identity - bolstered further with a distorted expectation called The Promised Land of eternal joy at the tip of the existential needle.

This search is, deceptively, a never-ending carousel of distractions in a mad pursuit for that ephemeral light at the end of tunnel that perpetually eludes us.

Yet - all exists within the confines of pure awareness, or consciousness; it is a self-contained universe where time, change, and entropy are meaningless abstractions. Why does the exuberant (distraught?) soul overlook existence's most beguiling characteristic - existence in thought is non-existent in non-conceptive (raw sensory data) awareness.

The illusion of separate 'I’ springs forth because the experiencer never stoops to questioning of its own authority. Herein lies eternal suffering: identification of Self with whatever its ever-fleeting attention fixates upon - ever doomed to chase after mirages crafted by our distorted dualistic lens.

Evidently, true self-awareness does not consider itself as passive witness either to reality or to dream states. It’s beyond even that duality. It merely is. Awareness aware of awareness - pure consciousness, unsoiled by ego identification - That is The Truth.

Tibetan wisdom reflects, 'As I already possess the wealth of perfection just as I am, what practice do I need?' This gnosis acknowledges no deficit awaiting fulfilment - and so dissolves perceived separation into its natural state of unity.

I hold the view that one’s final breakthrough towards enduring awakening springs not solely from a fluke of fortuity but rather relies on a disciplined practice, an unwavering faith and a conscious approach that not only acknowledges one’s existential impermanence but transcendently outgrows it through equanimous embrace of existence and non-existence as equally provisional.

Thus, by cultivating a clear mental focus through the crucible of the truth of personal identity informed by wise teaching, I believe that there comes a time in which we glimpse deeply: non-duality revealed.

Ego arises from an unreflective sleepwalking through life -its natural response entangled with 'wants', 'likes', and ' dislikes'. Always searching happiness amidst impermanence; always expecting and never experiencing stability amongst instability; never discerning true freedom that's concealed within - within the transparent and ever changeless, mirror-like reflection it was meant to be.
